DIRECTIONS TO BATAVIA R/C FIELD

Our primary field is located at the "Stafford International Airport" or officially known as Ray Heddon's Airfield. We are using about 500 feet of the 3,000 foot runway. This is a full-scale airport so a spotter is required when flying here. Open for training and experienced fliers.

Public is welcome at either field and is asked to stay behind the safety fence.

We recently built a shelter to get out of the sun, and has benches for seating.

Non-members of the Batavia Radio Controlled Flying Club must have a club member present in order to fly.

AMA or CMA license required to fly.

Learning to Fly ?

We are proud to continue our FREE Pilot Training program.   We have several Instructor Pilots that are willing to assist individuals in learning how to fly model aircraft. This program is open to anyone interested in learning how to fly or someone who needs a "refresher" before flying again.

  • If you don't have an aircraft to fly, we have a trainer aircraft that you can train on.
  • AMA license is required once student is ready to solo.
  • All training is done using a "buddy-box" to ensure safety and prevent the loss of aircraft.

To enroll in the Pilot Training Program, please contact one of the instructors below, or come out to the Ray Heddon AirField on a calm training evening. This program will start in the first part of May and will continue into September.
